Brian Gabler was voted by the mayor and city council to the position of City Manager in January 2020. He is a 36 year employee of the city and  has held various positions with the city. 

Among the honors received, the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce named Mr. Gabler as the Business Person of the Year for 2001. Mr. Gabler was named one of the Deal Makers of the Year for 2005 by the Pacific Coast Business Times and was honored in the Who’s Who in Business Leadership for 2007, 2008, and 2009 by the Pacific Coast Business Times. The Acorn Newspapers named Mr. Gabler one of the Top 25 Local People in Simi Valley for 2011.

Mr. Gabler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from California State University Northridge, and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Mr. Gabler has served on numerous community and Countywide boards, including the Kiwanis Club of Santa Susana where he served two terms as President, the Simi Valley Community Foundation, the Simi Valley Samaritan Center, Simi Valley Police Foundation where he served as Board President in 2006, and the United Way of Ventura County. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ventura County Workforce Investment Board and is Special Advisor to the Manufacturers Roundtable of Ventura County.
